About Burning Bush...

An ongoing spiritual light...the Burning Bush is a fire that does not consume itself. Instead, it represents the light of those who bring love and inspiration to our world. BBBOOKS.COM is our web incarnation.

We publish poetry, fiction and non-fiction in our ezine, IN OUR OWN WORDS, that features the work of Creative Writing students, our contest winners and various worthy submissions we receive. Bookstores, libraries and colleges may order New to North America, Second Edition from Small Press Distribution , Ingram or directly from us.

We hold poetry contests dedicated to "Burning Bush Poetry Prize" post Calls for Submission, and offer tools for writers. We are committed to social and economic justice, and the profoundly personal process that leads us there.

About the writing we feature on our web site...

At BBP we believe writing is an artform, a process, and a fundamental human right. We understand that all writing has a political context, even through omission. On the other hand, overly polemic, dogmatic writing does little to inspire readers to think for themselves. At BBP we wish to support the power to think independently, the most precious component of human free will. Accordingly we support PEN worldwide in its efforts to defend writers internationally.

BBP is not affiliated with any particular political or religious group; we are nonsectarian. Writings contained on this web site do not necessarily represent the opinions of the staff or management of BBP.

How You Can Be Published on our site...

There are several ways. You can send in poetry or short prose of your own to be considered for IN OUR OWN WORDS: THE EZINE FROM BBBOOKS. We also recommend looking at the Classifieds in Poets and Writers Magazine, visiting our Calls for Submission Page, or enter a contest like our "Burning Bush Poetry Prize". Only entires that include a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) will be returned, so be sure to include this with your work. Please do not send your only copies. We do not accept email submissions. See our editorial philosphy.
