Missing
Days
Virginia Ingram
I've
heard,
"When you lose a day
You lose a friend"
Wonder if that is true
I don't have many
So if I lose one
That would leave me two
"Who would that be?" I'm asked
"My son he is
A good friend to me"
You say "That can't be"
"Oh! you're wrong. I laugh
"He has taken charge
Since my husband died
No better friend
Have I"
"And
the other?"
"Why you of course
For reading my poetry
You're my friend . . .
And that makes two."
